도시의 효율적인 연결을 위해 만들어진 Infrastructure는 역설적으로 공간의 단절과 소외를 야기하여왔다. 대상지는 전철과 고가도로가 중첩되는 거대 Infrastructure로 도시의 Scale과 Street은 단절되었고, 그 사이 공간은 소외되고 시간이 멈춘 듯 정적인 공간으로 남겨져 있다.

전통적으로 ‘마당놀이’는 비워진 야외마당에서 이루어지는 모든 ‘놀이’를 의미했다. 유휴지가 된 도시 고가하부에 ‘마당’을 대신하는 ‘지붕’을 통해 다양한 놀이가 이루어지고, 이웃간 연결과 소통

을 도와주는 ‘지붕놀이’ 공간을 제안한다. 지붕놀이는 상부로는 서로 번갈아 열리고 하부로는 공간을 감싸준다. 주민들의 자생적 공간 운용을 위해 공간을 비워주며 다양한 문화체육 활동과 커뮤니티 활동을 위한 공간을 제공해준다.

고가하부의 단절된 동서방향으로 가로지르며 번갈아 열어주는 공간은 주변부를 고가 하부로 끌어들이고 고가 하부공간을 주변부로 확장시킨다. 가장자리로는 벤치와 조경이 자연스럽게 공간을 구획하여주고, 추후 대상지를 넘어 고가하부전체로 확장 가능하게 해준다.

The infrastructure created for efficient connection of the city has paradoxically caused separation and isolation in urban area. The site is under the huge infrastructure where trains and overpasses overlap, and the city’s scales and streets are separated, while the space between them is left as static and silent space.

Traditionally, the ‘Madang-Noli(traditional Yard Play in Korean)’ means all kinds of ‘play’ in the vacated outdoor yard. Under the city overpass, which is an idle place, we propose ‘Roof Play’ where various plays are made through ‘roof’ instead of ‘yard’. ‘Roof Play’ provides for neighbors to connect and communicate each other. ‘Roof play’ is alternately open to the east and west on the top of the roof, providing a resting space to be covered nicely the under the roof. It offers space for various cultural and sports activities and community activities.

The newly created space under the overpass draws the surrounding area into the space and expands it to the surrounding area. Benches and landscapes naturally partition the space to the edge, promote them to extend beyond the site to the other areas under the overpass.
