Gwangjin Tower : 광진(光津)타워 (서울 천호대로 상부 공공미술작품 지명공모) , 2018.1

광진타워는 천호대교에서부터 보여지는 광진구의 관문으로서 과거 나룻배의 돛을 연상시키는 ‘상징의 공간’이다. 그리고 지역의 중심부로서 주민들이 모여들고 만남의 장소가 되는 전망쉼터로써 ‘휴식의 공간’이다. 또한 숲마루 공원에서부터 아차산, 한강으로 이어지는 자연의 풍광을 담고 빛과 바람이 소통하는 ‘자연의 공간’이다.

광진타워는 한강 넘어 멀리서 하나의 나룻배의 모습으로 빛나는 도시의 ‘상징’이다. 사람들에게는 은은하게 비추는 간접광으로 주변공원을 밝혀주는 테라스 쉼터로써 ‘휴식’의 공간이다. 또한, 실시간 자연이 변화하는 모습을 데이터와 빛을 통해 직관적으로 보여주는 ‘자연’의 게시판이다.

Gwangjin Tower is the gateway of Gwangjin-gu which is seen from Cheonho Bridge. It is a ‘space of symbol’ that reminds the sail of the past ferry boat. It is a ‘resting place’ as a promenade where residents gather and meet as a center of the neighborhood. It is also a ‘space of nature’ in which light and wind communicate with natural scenery that leads from the New forest park to Achasan and the Han River.

Gwangjin Tower is a symbol of the city that shines in the form of a single ferry over the river. It is a place for relaxation as a terrace shelter that illuminates the surrounding park with indirect light illuminating the people. In addition, it is a “nature” bulletin board that shows the changes of real-time nature intuitively through data and light.
